Money Matters Radio Show #818
Notes for September 24, 2006>
Mike began the September 24, 2006 show with another in his series of "back to basics". Included in his commentary were insights from various columnists including Humberto Cruz, Paul Farrell and Chuck Jaffe. Links to all can be found at www.moneybulletin.com - Our Favorite Money Columnists
-
Cruz: Take time to inventory what you own in your house. In the event of a disaster, you don't want to have to remember what you own.
- Jaffe: Take time this month to look at your spending habits. Get a notebook and write down everything you spend. Little stuff adds up throughout the year.
- Farrell: How you think affects how you approach your money. Nothing it what it seems and "experts" don't know the future. So, protect yourself with a well diversified portfolio.
Mike also warned against the latest traveling road show in Atlanta which is asking people to shell out $3,000 for a variety of things that include market timing chart programs and asset protection programs. Mike says the asset protection programs may be worthless and to see an attorney directly to make sure what you are doing will work. Mike recommended Atlanta attorney George Fox for asset allocation strategies. See www.galaw.com for more information.
